November 1, 2020 - MILFORD CT - The We Believe Coalition recently had a series of faithful conversations and distributed lawn signs at two outreach tables they setup at supporting churches during the month of October.
The two events took place on October 24th and 31st at First United Church of Christ, Congregational and Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, respectively.
Members of the surrounding community stopped by to chat with coalition volunteers and learn about the newly formed grassroots organization.
According to organizers, much of the sharing was centered around racial justice issues and the protests that have taken place this year. Other sharing included topics related to women's rights, marriage equality, and the need to honor diversity.
"We were delighted with the turnout and opportunities to raise community awareness,” said Jamie Mullen Rude, co-chair of the coalition. “We distributed about 60 signs at the two events and engaged in roughly a dozen or so conversations,” Rude added.
The We Believe Coalition has distributed nearly 200 lawn signs since its founding in October 2020.
Founded in the fall of 2020, the We Believe Coalition is a grassroots alliance of dedicated people working together to help end discrimination and promote equality for all.
